Description

This Polish pasta is great served with Keilbasa.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cottage cheese or cottage cheese with chives
  • 1 lb medium pasta shells
  • 8 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion - chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 14 1⁄2 oz can sauerkraut

Instructions

Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a boil. Add pasta shells, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 10 to 14 minutes. Drain pasta, return to pot, set aside. In medium pan cover sauerkraut with water, bring to a boil. Drain and rinse well. In large skillet saute butter and chopped onion. Add sauerkraut and mix well until sauerkraut turns light brown. Over low heat combine sauerkraut and cottage cheese to pasta. Mix well. Salt and pepper to taste.
